Shylerons.

I slowly flew across the silent room. My heart beated wildly against my blood. I felt my the warmth of my blood rushing throughout my body. I took a breath of air as I slowly crept towards a mirror. I placed my pale hand towards the mirror. Can it go through? Yes, it went through, just like that. I gazed up at the mirror for a second. My reflection was not there, but I thought only vampires didn't have reflections.

But I didn't know what I was. I only knew I was no longer human. I blinked when I noticed a picture frame. My whole family was in the photo. It was not clear, but I could still make out the faces.

My younger brother was on the right, wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts. His converses were very clean, almost new. My father next to him, his right arm on my brother's shoulder. My father was wearing a red t-shirt with indigo jeans. My mother stood next to him, smiling, wearing a white, long dress. My older sister was next to my mother, wearing a dark blue t-shirt with light blue jeans. Right next to her was me. I was smiling and laughing. My long black hair was up to my shoulder. My pink and white t-shirt matched my pink skirt. My pink converses were also very clean. My pale blue eyes matched my whole family, besides my father. He had hazel eyes. I noticed my mother and brother had light brown hair. My father, brother, and I were tall. I tried hard to remember their names, but nothing came into my mind. I couldn't even remember my own name.

I felt tears coming, but nothing came. I missed my family. I missed their grins, their smiles. I missed the sound of their laughter.

I placed the picture back near the mirror. Questions filled my mind as I stared at the mirror once again.

Where am I? What happened to me? Who am I? What am I? Where's my family? I felt dizzy as I realized I couldn't answer any of the questions.

I looked at my right hand, I could see right through it, but I can see the outline and marks. Some warm liquid was in my left hand. I shuddered as I looked at the blood. The wound didn't look bad, but bad enough to kill me. I could hear my heart thumping. I know I am alive, but not in a human way.

I flew towards the closed, wooden door. Should I go through, or open it like a normal person would? I shrugged. I closed my eyes tight, and just slam through it. Nothing. No pain. I smiled as I noticed I can go through anything. The narrow hallway was pitch black, and quiet. No one was in this house. A strange light blinded me. I flew towards it, and found out it was just the entrance of the house. Someone forgot to close it. I drifted through the door, and ended outside. The sun beamed on me as some of my energy was drained. I grabbed a nearby umbrella that someone must of left. The sun's rays no longer were aiming at me. Strangers winced as they noticed a flying umbrella, even though I was holding it. They couldn't see me, I remembered.

"Mommy, lock," a little boy shouted, pointing at the umbrella, "I whant a brella wike yat!"

The mother grabbed the boy's hand and ran away in horror, "Run and don't look back! The umbrella is cursed!"

"But mommy, I whant ist!" The boy yelled, following his mother.

People gathered around me. An old man poked the umbrella with his cane. I dropped the umbrella and ran through the crowd. I felt someone's warm heart as I sped. The crowd gathered closer and someone jumped on it. I laughed as I felt the wind. I was running faster than the wind. But before I knew it, my energy was gone. The sun drained it.

I frowned as I walked. My feet weren't communicating with me. They weren't going as fast as I would like them to. They were more like snails. I looked across the sky as I noticed the sun was disappearing. Yes, my energy will come back.

After a minute or two, my energy was back. I stood, akwardly, gazing up at the vanishing sun. It's still there, but it's not draining my energy. I should be pleased, but I was also curious. I ignored my curiosity and just ran through the empty street.

Even though it was winter, it was warm. About 60 degrees. I stared at the moon as it appeared. It was also bright, but not as bright as the sun. I gained more energy for some reason. Hm, maybe the moon helps me, but the sun doesn't.

I stopped as someone was staring right at me. Can he see me? The man shrugged and continued walking slowly. I took a breath of relief.

I watched a tall boy, about the age 13 or 14, running at the opposite direction. An old lady was chasing him, but she was far apart.

"Give me it back," The old lady cried, nearly tripping over her cane, "Someone help!" I looked at the boy, he was holding a maroon colored purse with cash crawling out of it. I just stood there, shocked why a boy would do that.

The boy looked back and snickered, "You'll never catch me, old lady. There's no one else here." I watched his speed, he wasn't very fast, but fast enough to get away from the strangers. I couldn't do anything because I would just go through it if I wasn't careful.

I have to get the purse. All of sudden, blue sparks came out of my left hand. You have got to be kidding me. I have powers now? I told myself, make the sparks disappear back in the my hands, and it did. Now I have to get the purse. The blue sparks came back.

"Get the purse!" I ordered. The blue sparks darted faster than the boy and took the purse.

"Whoa," The boy said, standing still, shocked, "What was that?"

I ignored him, "Give the purse back to the lady." The blue sparks dropped the purse in her hand.

The lady looked up at the sky and prayed, "Thank you god, amen."

The boy ran away, but slowly this time. The lady made a cruel face and muttered, "Weird children these days. When I get home, I'm calling the police."

"Come back," I ordered the sparks, "Wow, that was fun." I smiled, still shocked that I have powers. I walked slowly, and stopped after a second.

I felt someone's warm presence behind me. I looked back. A tall boy, age 15 to 16, was staring right at me. He had short hair with wavy bangs. He was muscular, and his face was sad and strict. He looked disturbed. My mouth was hanging open when I noticed I could see through him. "W-who are you?"

The boy's stern face didn't change, "I'm not sure what my name is. You?"

"I have no clue." So he didn't know his name like me.

"I saw what happened, that was nice of you."

"Erhm, yeah. Just wanted to be helpful."

"Well, your sparks are blue."

"Yeah."

"My sparks are red."

"Oh."

"So, where are you heading to?"

"Not really sure. I'm trying to find my family."

His face fell, "I don't have any family."

I frowned, "That sucks."

"Yes, yes it does."

"How old are you?"

"16, you?"

"I'm 15 when I died."

"Ah, good memory you have."

"Not my name."

He laughed, "Yes, we all forget our names."

"When did you die?"

"12 years ago, I was a ghost."

"I was like a ghost, like this morning."

"Hm, that's nice."

"Not very."

He laughed again, "You know," He smiled, "I trust you."

"I trust you, too."

"Awesome."

"Heh, well, I have a few questions."

"Then I'll have answers."

I laughed, "Alright, first question. What are my powers?"

"Well, red is like fire, blue is water," He looked in the sky, "And, erhm, yellow is electricty, green is like nature, and white is the mind and energy."

"So, I'm water?"

"Yep." He replied, looking back at me.

"And you're fire?"

"Correct." He nodded.

"Besides that, what are the other powers?"

"Um, you can grab items from a distance," He smiled, "Like the way you did with the purse. You can read minds if you concentrate really hard."

"Really?"

"Yes." I looked at him and concentrated on reading his mind. Nothing came.

I frowned, "That's odd, I can't read your mind."

"Well, no, of course, our type is an exception," he explained.

"Ah, I see. Are there any other powers?"

"You can see the future, but that's rare for it to happen. There are a lot more, but I'm just a beginner at this."

"12 years is only a beginning?"

"Yes."
"Wow, so we're ghosts?"

"Not exactly, we're part ghosts, vampires, and psychic kind of."

"We have to suck blood?"

"Only if you need to, but we rarely do. If we do, the person whose blood was sucked would be just fine if we only took a low amount."

"Um, what do we call our type?"

"We are called Shylerons."

"Shylerons?"

"Yes, Shylerons."

"That's an odd name for us."

"I agree, but it's our name."

"How did we get it?"

"Well, a couple of centuries ago, a man named Robert H. Bryant was killed by an angry mob who thought Robert was a wizard. It is told that Robert H. Bryant was the first person to die into a Shyleron. Robert was extremely shy and that's how we got our name."

"Because a guy was shy?"

"Yes, odd isn't it?"

"Mmhm. Then how did we get our powers?"

"Robert developed them. He has all of the powers. The only other people that have it is his family."

"Are they still alive?"

"We're Shylerons, we can't die."

"Oh yeah."

"I heard they're in France at the moment."

"Do you know where we are right now?"

"Uh, I'm pretty sure we're in New York right now."

I looked around, "Doesn't look busy."

He laughed, "We're not in the city."

I blushed, "Oops."

He met my eyes and smiled. He was so cute! "So you're alone?"

"Yeah, I don't know any Shylerons besides you."

"Ah, I know many. In fact," He pointed across the street, "Henry Lionel Jenkins lives there.

"You know their names?"

"Yes, it comes into your mind after around 15 years. Sometimes, even earlier. For example, Henry remembered his name on his 3rd day as a Shyleron."

"Wow, I hope I remember mine."

"Me too." He looked distracted.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't think it's anything, but I'm beginning to remember my name."

"W-what is it?"

"It's L-lance Thomas Mason."

"That's an awesome name!"

"I guess, well, are you ready to go to Henry's house?"

"Sure." I answered, nodding. I kept wondering what was my real name. I followed Lance as he walked slowly. I was suprised when he reached for my hand and succeeded. I held onto it. Thoughts ventured into my mind. Does he like me? Because I don't. I love him. I grinned at that thought. A knock disturbed my thoughts.

"Who's there?" A rough male voice asked.

"I'm the 16 year-old boy."

"Password?" the voice coughed.

"Lucky Stars."

"Correct, you may enter." The wooden door creeked open. I looked at Lance. He smiled.

"Haven't seen you in awhile, eh?"

"Yes, oh my, who is this beautiful lady?" Henry questioned. I looked up as his squinty eyes met mine. His shaggy hair was unmanagable. His face a bit lighter than Lance's. He was also taller than both of us.

Lance turned to me, "Henry, this is my friend, uh, she doesn't know her name."

"Friend? You mean girlfriend." Henry nodded. Lance's face burned up almost immediately.

"I wish." Lance finally said.

"No, I wish," I giggled.

Lance hugged me gentlely. "It could come true."

Henry stood akwardly, "Should I really be here?"

"Well, um, she just wanted to meet you." Lance answered, letting go of me.

I nodded. "I was bored."

Lance’s face lit up, "Guess what, Henry!"

"Uh, what?"

"I found out my name!"

"Really? What is it?"

"Lance Thomas Mason."

"Lance Thomas Mason, nice."

"Yes, that’s what she said."

I nodded, "I love it."

Henry laughed, "So are you guys going out?"

Lance looked at me and whispered, "Are we?"

I nodded slowly. "If you want."

"Sure," Lance nodded, "Henry, we are going out."

"Did you guys kiss yet?" Henry laughed.

"We just met," Lance murmured.

"Ah, love at first sight," Henry said.

Lance and I nodded, agreeing with each other.

"Um, Henry, know a place where we can sleep at tonight?"

"This place is nearly full due to the past visitors, and it hasn't been cleaned yet."

"Oh."

"But you could try Julianne's and Ben's place."

Lance nodded, "Sure if she w-" Lance paused when he noticed I was extremely pale.

Something clouded my mind. Silver Marissa Bandis was repeatly said in my mind. I moved closer to Lance as he watched me, confused. "L-lance, I think I know my name."

"What is it?"

"Silver Marissa Bandis."

"Are you sure?"

"Pretty much."

"What happened?"

"The name was repeatly said throughout my mind."
