Murdered

"Do we have to move?!" I asked, angrily. We were moving to Redrum Lane. Don't even ask me why it's called that!
"Yes, we have to move." my dad answered. "Why not?"
"I can name a thousand reasons." I said.
"Name them." my older brother, Bryan said.
"Uh, I don't feel like it."
"Scared?
"Fatso
"Buttface."
"As--"
"Stop!" my dad said. "We're moving in, and that's it!"
"Ugly." I muttered under my breath.
We went inside the house. It actually looked very good. But, I had to pretend to hate it so everyone will feel bad for me.
"Ew. This house is so stupid." I said. I went upstairs. "I want this room. It's the only good one."
It was a small black and white room. It has lots of space.
"Why did you even pick this house?" my older brother asked. "It's so small! I think I might have to sleep in the attic."
"Whoops!" my mom said. "You can take the attic, then."
"I don't want the attic! I was just kidding." Bryan said, even though the house was very small and he might have to sleep in the attic.
"But you have to, and this house IS very small."
"Fine, but after a month, Ryan has to sleep in it!" Bryan said.
"No way, Jose!" I said.
"Fine, two months?"
"No deal."
"Three months?"
"Fine." I sighed and unpacked my stuff.
"Why do we even have to live in this small house?" Bryan asked. "You know Dad has to get a job. He has like no money..."
"He does have a job. That's why he moved here, to GET the job. And, we're not that poor."
Little did we know, this house was going to change everyone in the house... and in the neighborhood...

School was boring. Everyone kept staring at me like I'm some dude from outer space.
"Redrum Lane? No one ever goes into that street", and "Where are you from?", and "Hello!" were the most often greetings.
I don't thnk Bryan even went to school. He skipped, I think... But I don't even know what he did.
When I came home, my mom was watching TV.
"Just recently at 3:00, there has been a murder. There a murder last night, too. We are still investigating. Any information? Please contact 356-2947. Again, that is 356-2947." the news reporter said.
"Oh, hi honey. Where's Bryan?"
We heard a knock. "I think that's Bryan." It was.
"Hey, Ryan... what's up?" Bryan said. His eyes looked like he didn't even have sleep.
"Hey, Bryan. What have you been doing?"
"What do you think, buttface? Went to school."
"Did you have any sleep last night?" I asked.
"Uh, not really. Been playing my PSP. Well, gotta do homework."
"Okay."

That night, we ate dinner. Spaghetti. After dinner, Bryan asked, "I need to go out. Please?"
"Okay, be back by 11." my mom said.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Uh, hanging out with friends? What do you think?"
"You made friends already?"
"Yeah, joined basketball, that's why I was late, okay? Bye..."
"Okay.." I went upstairs. And back downstairs. I decided to watch TV. I turned on the TV.
News, no, Spongebob, no, American idol, nah... ugh, we don't have anymore channels? I'll watch American Idol then.... I thought to myself.
It showed a random girl singing and her crying because Simon said "You sound like a choking cat."
"NEWS ANNOUCEMENT." someone on TV interrupted. "About five minutes ago, there has been another murder."
What is up with these murders?

The next day, everyone was freaking out in school. There has been 8 murders!
The popular girls were like, "Ohmigod, ohmigod. So freak-ay!"
Which made it more freaky. There has even been a FOWITM (pronounced FOW IT TIM) club (find out who is the murderer).
Okay, well, maybe I'm exaggarating, but it's true. I wasn't really afraid. If no one lives in Redrum Lane, then I guess I won't be murdered.
When I got to class, my teacher said, "For this year, you have to join a club for extra credit."
I decided to join the "FOW IT TIM/FOWITM" club. The other clubs were all girly. The Makeup Club, the Fashionistas, the Grrlz...
We met up and it was just socializing! Only one person was trying to find out the murderer and it was a guy named Ben.
Well, everyone thinks he's a nerd, but I decided to help him.
"Hey Ben..." I greeted him.
"Hey, Ryan. Want to help me? So far I've gathered the evidence. It's a man killing these people. And the man lives in this town."
"OK." i looked at my watch. "Gotta go, sorry!"

The next day, I couldn't fall asleep. Bryan was screaming in his sleep, "NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!" Got the point? He's probably scared of the murderer.
When I went to school, news spread--50 people murdered all in this town....
The school hired guards for the school.
5 hours later, one person killed in school.
I was freaking out... what IS happening? I mean, what did we ever do?
The school closed down for two weeks. The teacher gave us homework to do over the two weeks.
When I came home, Bryan was mad... well, he looked mad.
"Why are you mad?" I asked.
" 'Cause this murderer sucks. What the hell is he trying to do?"
"I don't know...."

That night, I tried to investigate. I woke up and saw Bryan. "What are you doing?"
"Charging the PSP. Ran out of battery." Bryan answered. "You?"
"Uh, trying to find out who the murderer is."
Bryan shot a look. "Good luck, then..."
He turned around, back into his room. I noticed that he didn't even charge the PSP....
I went back to sleep, murder murder murder kept muttering inside my head...
I woke up and saw Bryan. "What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Just checking something." Bryan said. "Well, time to go back to sleep..."
"Okay, what really is going on? This doesn't make sense!"
"Nothing is going on? I'm just looking for my homework. I did it in your room!" Bryan said.
"Oh, I don't know."

"I think you should switch beds now. Bryan in Ryan's room, Ryan in the attic." mom said.
"Huh? What?! No way!" I said.
"Yes way."
"Why?"
"Bryan hasn't been getting a lot of sleep!"
"So? So, you want me to not get sleep?"
"Well, it's more fair for Bryan to get more sleep now."
"Oh, fine. He's been acting weird."
I watched TV, and remembered, What about school? Oh, it closed.
Bryan watched TV, too. "Hey Ryan, it's okay. I'll sleep in the attic."
"Thank you!" I said.

That night, I ended up in the attic. Pretty much because my mom thought it was unfair. Bryan was unhappy about it, too.
In the attic, it felt good. The bed felt comfortable.... and I went to sleep pretty fast. Now I know why Bryan liked this bed...
When, I woke up, I felt weird.... like I've been through a lot.
I went to the living room, and looked at my hands.... there was a knife on it.
Am I the murderer?

I know I didn't murder anyone. I didn't. When I watched TV, it said there was a murder 10 hours ago...
I went on the computer. I searched up games and stuff. I also searched up "murders in Redsville" which is my town.
And this popped up:
10 years ago, there has been series of murders. It was said that Harry Thompson was the murderer. He lived in Redrum Lane.
I clicked on Redrum Lane which was a link. I read it.

Redrum Lane is known as the haunted street. It's not really haunted, people say, it just was said to be haunted because that's where lots of murderers are from.
Everything did not make sense. Why do people from Redrum Lane murder people? And no one in our family murdered anyone... Wait....

How could it be? Maybe Redrum Lane IS haunted...
I asked Bryan about it, and he said, "This is why I call you stupid. You think I'm some murderer?"
I decided to do more research and something very important popped up (it was on the very last page of the google search results). It was a guy's blog, from Redrum Lane.

I think I'm trapped. I'm being haunted. I hear ooo like ghosts. I feel so sick. Everyone's freaking out. I don't know. Funny that Redrum spelled backwards is murder....

I figured it out. Ghosts haunt people here. They make you feel so good, and they make you do stuff. This is terrifying. I need to get out.

"Who?"
"YOU!"I said. I explained everything.
"What? This is weird....."
"I'm sorry, this might make me look like a traitor, but I got to report to the police."
"I understand, Ryan." Bryan said.
This is so weird...
"Hello, police?" I asked.
"What?"
I explained it to him.
"Thanks for the info..." the police answered.
"And, the person who's being haunted is my brother..."

"Remember a month ago?" I said.
"Don't remind me." Bryan said.
"That house is probably broken down. Well, of course."
"Well, we have to get a better house. And thank god that neighborhood was nice enough to let me free."
"Why do we have to get a better house?"
"We should. With that 10,000 reward money plus some money from dad's job, we could buy a pretty good house."
"Bryan?"
"What...?"
"Don't you feel kinda bad that we kinda murdered some people?"
"Yeah, kinda... I mean it's not right."

That night, we got into our new house. Way better house. YAY!
I jumped right in and cheered.
I went to sleep.
The next day, we watched TV.
"Another murd--" the reported said.
"WHAT?! I thought--" I started to say.
"You gotta get over it. We're not the murderers, hello?"
"Thank god."

A week later, 10 murders have happened.
"WHAT THE HECK!?" I freaked out. "I THOUGHT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE IN A NEW HOUSE, BUT THERE'S STILL MURDERS?!"
"I think--" Bryan started to say.
"You think? I THINK I'M HAVING A NIGHTMARE!" I said.
"Just calm down. I think that the ghosts somehow followed us?"
"Are you kidding me?"
"I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what's happening to us? Are we turning like, evil?

"No, but the Rac culture does.. well they are believed to speak ghostspeak..."

"Ancient culture."

A guy appeared over. "You're talking about the rac culture? My friend's a desencant from the rac culture."
"Can you show him where he is?"
"Sure. Why do you need a rac person?"
"No reason... erm, does he speak Ghostspeak?"
"Yeah. It's weird. The atomosphere gets weird when he speaks it."
"Okay...."
We walked to this house.
"Hey, you're the rac person? We need to get rid of ghosts."
"Easy as pie."
"Okay..."
"Ogsh Yawath. Eavelsh mehtsh enolath. All done."
"Seriously? Thanks!"

"Duh... and I was right, we shouldn't've moved here in the first place..." I said.
We told the police, mom and dad, and other people about the situation. They gave us a 5,000 dollar reward.
"We're making money!" I joked.
And we sold our house and made a profit. And we went back to our old house... and
